Anyone can come along and enjoy the activities that RATT runs. You do not need to be a member to join in.
Do I have to be a member to volunteer at Room at the Table?
Anyone aged 15 or over can help out as a volunteer. However if you start to take on more responsibilities, such as looking after a team of volunteers, or having access to open the front door, or taking payments, etc, then you will need to become a member and sign the Volunteer’s Agreement.
What are the benefits of being a member?
Members can vote at the Annual General Meetings (AGMs). They can nominate themselves or other members (aged 18 and over) to be part of the committee of management. Members also have some other rights as described in the Act.
Are members expected to do anything?
Becoming a member of Room at the Table includes agreeing to two things:
- you contribute towards the purposes and operations of Room at the Table; and
- you will attend AGMs and vote and/or nominate for the people on RATT’s management committee.
There are many ways that you can contribute towards RATT’s purposes and operations, including helping out when able, perhaps setting or packing up, cleaning, editing the studio creations, doing the bookkeeping, or even running RPG campaigns. The Volunteers page lists many more opportunities to get involved.
nb. Proxy voting will be available at AGMs if you are unable to attend.
Does it cost anything to be a member?
At this stage it does not cost anything to become a member of Room at the Table Inc. This may change in the future.
Do members get a discount?
No, however members have access to the same very low door fees, family rates and RATT Pack discounts as everyone else. If we bring in membership fees in the future, then it is very likely that members will receive discounted entry.
